I think I'm in trouble...too tight?

Recommended Posts

I think my band might be too full. I can hardly keep anything down and I spit up just about everything. How long can this go on without me causing a slip? It's more of a PB with lots of slime, it doesn't feel like it's quite going down so I don't think that's a vomit. Plus it always happens with the first 2 or 3 bites of food. I'm going strictly liquids for a while, but I'm so sick of Protein shakes I almost gag when I start to drink them.

Any advice will be appreciated. I don't want to get unfilled, because I'll go back to being hungry all the time again. Please help!

You'll want an unfill. You're damaging yourself right now. Your esophagus will get dilated if you keep trying to keep food down and are unable. I wouldn't even be worried about a slip. There are so many other things that can go wrong. Once your esophagus gets all "baggy" and stretched, it takes a lot for it to heal. Throwing up-spitting up-PB'ing daily takes a toll on it. If you can't eat, you'll become anemic and malnourished. (Been there.)

Get unfilled somewhat if you'd like to keep your band for more than a few years. I know you don't care for me, but I'm telling you the truth. I've seen it over and over again. THIS is how the complications start. Avoid them if you care about your health.

Thanks Ivy. I don't hold grudges, sometimes I get a bit hot headed and if I hurt your feelings or offended you with a prior post, I do apologize. Any positve advice is always welcomed and I will take your suggestion seriously.

Thank you for showing that you care...even though you thought I was upset with you. That shows true character and I like that!!! I'm the same way, so that makes us buds now.

call your doctor and tell them and let them advise you.. from what i have read on this forum, maybe too tight and having a band is not being as tight so you cant drink/eat....((hurting yourself is far worse then not wanting to be unfilled....that should be the furthest thing from your thoughts now)...call your doctor TODAY

Hi CG:

I made an appointment for an unfill just a few minutes ago. But now that I think about it, I have been drinking Water too soon before a meal and sometimes I've been drinking while eating. I'm going to try to do things the right way for a few days and see what happens. I'm doing well with my Protein shake today and if I have to go strictly liquids for a few weeks that's what I'll do.

I'll keep you posted.

You're also at a stage of your journey where eating like a Bandster is so important and none of us watch you eat so it's impossible to tell if you're too tight or maybe you're just eating too big and too fast? It took me 10 months to figure out how to eat right and it's still a struggle?

Talk to your doc or nutritionist, they'll know.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
