I would suggest making an appointment to see the nutritionist. That would be a positive step toward getting back on track, and might help you get back in the "nutritional saddle".

 Good Morning, I also have the same problem. What I have done in the past is not to say or think "diet". I eat at a location where my plate is filled for me. So I put 1/2 in a carryout before I eat a bite, so I'm only eating half of the quantity I ate the day before. I take this home for the refrigerator. (I either eat this at another meal or feed the dog or disposal. ha!) After a few days my stomach (pouch) has shrunk a bit and I'm no longer hungry. Then I begin to listen for my body signals that says "enough". When my stomach (pouch) is enlarged I don't get messages and that's when I overeat. This eating half as much really works but you will be tempted for a few days, especially at night. This has happened to me several times as I had my Band placed 7 years ago. (My only worry is that my stomach (pouch) will not shrink back to where it was the first few years.) If you have to do the cooking the smaller plate & tiny cutlery would be an option. Wishing you good health.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
