athenssalesgirl 1 Posted July 21, 2013 I had hernia repair and lap band on 7-18-2013, and I remember very little about what the nurse said to me in the recovery room, I was so out of it with the morpheme, as it made me deathly ill. I am now listing it as an allergic reaction. My surgery was done at the Surgery Clinic of Richardson, Texas, I read ahead of time and feel I know what to eat, but feel I knew very little about the amount of pain I would be in afterwards.. Each day I am feeling better. I feel like I can tolerate more liquids than I anticipated, and I was told I had 3 cc put in during surgery.. I started this procedure at 188 and hope to get down to120 or 125, I have heard it is harder for folks to lose weight that are not morbidly obese. I am hopeful in this new journey in my life:-) 1 vssharp reacted to this
jeanbean1024 7 Posted July 21, 2013 Oh mine was done on June 20th. I had a hernia repaired also. My doctor did not say anything about liquid in there, but there might be. He did say it was very tight to start with. I just got my first fill of 2 cc this past week We tried to go more, but it was too much. The first few days, I could hardly get anything down due to all the swelling. I even had to wear stretch pants because I was still swollen. Just keep trying. As you heal you will be able to drink more. I do believe you will still have success with the band no matter what your size is once the doctor finds the "sweet spot" for your band and your weight loss. Best wishes.
