Gregory O'Brien 1 Posted July 19, 2013 Feel like I could eat like I never had surgery. Got my first fill a week ago. It's done nothing and I Am dieting and exercising as well. Very discouraged. By the way I had 2 band surgeries within 72 hours.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 19, 2013 You're never a failure unless you give up. You haven't given up so you're not a failure. It takes most people multiple fills before they have adequate Fluid in their band, until then, it's just another diet. But, also keep in mind the band isn't meant to physically stop you from eating. It's meant to control your hunger: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html Why did you have two band surgeries 72 hours apart??? 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
pinklily27 61 Posted July 19, 2013 Sorry you had to have two surgeries! You are not a failure! Like Missy said, you haven't given up yet! It definitely does take multiple fills for many people to have some restriction. Do not give up, you can do this! 2 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
ali is changing 14 Posted July 19, 2013 Keep going. Hang in there. I was banded on 3/8/13 and I just am now feeling restriction. It took multiple fills. But I have dieted and exercised my little heart out, and I am down 55 pounds. You can do this 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and TBone55 reacted to this
B-52 7,113 Posted July 19, 2013 I gained weight between my first and second fill....it took a bit to get things properly adjusted...and I have been at my optimal weight for quite some time now...and no longer worry about dieting... 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted July 19, 2013 Two surgeries and now multiple fills must feel discouraging but know that you are almost there -- sending best wishes, you can do this thing! 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
GuyMontag 1,264 Posted July 19, 2013 If I gave you a power drill and told you to use to put together a bunch of shelves but never plugged the drill in for you would you consider yourself a failure for not being able to use the drill? Of course not. As you get fills you are adding power to your band. This doesn't happen overnight for most people. Just keeping getting restriction and then you can begin the real work. Keep your chin up. 5 backpacking5, Ckelly1974, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and 2 others reacted to this
