Got my first fill. He put in 2 1/2 cc's in my 14 cc band. Came home and my lovely Wife made dinner so I was anxious to see if I had and difference in my eating, but to my surprise their was none. I understand it may take several fills to reach the green zone, I guess I was just hoping for a quick result. Maybe in 2 weeks when I get my next fill I will be able to tell a difference.

Did your doctor say that you can eat right after the fill? Mine says liquids for a day, and then food as tolerated. Many doctors want their patients on liquids for up to three days after a fill.

Thought I'd share just in case. I got my first fill and at first I guess because of the type of food I was eating I had no trouble with eating I thought I had no restriction, but for some reason a week or so later I got a little stuck on chicken and then it just kept getting worse I kept getting stuck worse on stuff. I don't know why it happened except to say maybe I had not developed good eating habits as far as small bites and chewing well. Getting stuck sucks so I just wanted to warn you depending on what and how you eat you could have some restriction as compared to having nothing so be careful when your eating, it could surprise you at anytime just don't want you to get stuck if you don't have to. Good luck

Well, I will be going for my 4th fill in August and I can hardly wait. I haven't hit the green zone yet but I'm hoping. I've never gotten stuck on anything so I'm pretty lucky that way.

@ dawalsh, you say you haven't hit the green the green zone yet? Have you lost weight throughout since surgery, or are you just maintaining, or gaining??

I had my first fill last Friday. I now have 3 cc's in a 14 cc band. I had to do fluids the first day and soft food for a day or two after. When I ate normal foods I was so hopeful to feel a difference, but like you, I didn't notice anything. It has now been a week since my fill and tonight I was eating the same type of food that I had before and got stuck! Wow, was I surprised. My nurse had told me that with some people it could take up to two weeks to notice a difference.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
