I've been a little apprehensive about starting to exercise, however I spoke with a friend last night about something that might help. I downloaded c25k 5k trainer, its free and supposed to take you from couch to being able to do a 5k in some period of time. I am not sure the time period I didn't do that much research on it and after day 1 I'm actually looking forward to day 2. It started out with a 5 min warm up then alternated between 60 sec of jogging and 90 sec or walking (20 min total) then a 5 min cool down for a complete 30 mins. I actually laughed at the app when it said begin running. Instead of running I increased the incline and speed on the treadmill then when it told me to begin walking I dropped it back down. To be honest I didn't think i would make it through the entire 30 mins but I am goal oriented and kept an eye on the timer and kept telling myself to push forward. You also have the option to listen to music while doing it and it will interrupt and tell you to speed up or walk or cool down.

Has anyone gotten their first fill yet? If so, how bad was the pain? What did it feel like?

Has anyone had any bread or crackers yet? I had scrambled egg beaters on a piece of toast and felt over full. I don't think I will be able to do much bread anymore. I had a few triscuits and they were ok.

Your dr should have given you a detailed list of stages , I was banded on July 19 and was just able to start purée today you should be allowed broth and other liquids though but it's best to check

Sounds like "sliming". From what I've read on here from ppl reporting similar things it is food or liquid backing back up your esophagus. This happens from eating/drinking too fast or possibly getting something stuck. Your body makes this slimy mucus to try and move the stuff thru the stoma. Might be worth calling your doc it you are concerned/if it continues even if your eating and drinking is at a glacial pace. Hope u feel better soon!

Banded on 7/19 and woke up this morning with my first appetite :/ I liked it much better before this lol. Had to pull out my timer to watch how fast I was eating and pre -measured food so I didn't accidentally mess up but missing the feeling is not wanting food lol

I was banded on the 25th and the gas pains have pretty much subsided and I'm still pretty sore around the incision sites, but now I'm dealing with EXTREME hunger pains! All these liquid Protein Drinks are starting to make me more nauseous with every sip! I'm so tempted to eat some pudding or thin mashed potatoes. Help! Did anyone else have this problem?!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
