Hi tiger....I have such great band pals we have still been chatting in pre operation chats.....I was banded July 11th and every day I feel better and better, I am very positive and optimistic and so excited to see how I transform from hard work in the next few months. My goal is to be 50 pounds lighter or more by Christmas.

That's awesome penny...I'm down 12... What do the incision marks look like? I have 5....4 small ones and then the larger one where the port is...did it hurt? Are there stitches under the tape?

Bill white and brown how do you guys feel? Any pain or discomfort still? Bringing sexy back you're in for a fantastic journey? Chapstick, ear plugs, heating pad, gas x strips are all must haves for the days of surgery and after!

Banded 7/11 - pain is mild to moderate at this point. Trying to ween off pain meds. Need to clear my head for work. Absolutely starting stool softeners tomorrow after a miserable experience today.

Banded July 12th. Absolutely starving all the time. Sick and tired of Popsicles and broth. Gas pain pretty severe still. All I know is, I can't just do liquids for another 12 days.

Are you able to drink Protein shakes as well at this point? I'm hungry but not starving and I think the Protein is helping a lot n

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
