my Secret place.....

Recommended Posts

My husband knows I get on here and is glad I have the support. I don't go to a local support group but am so glad I have this site. I can get on when I cannot sleep or when I'm having a hard time. This is my place to be sad, happy, and vent. Always nice to know there are others in the same place I am.

I am an open book lol EVERYONE that is in my life knows I am on this journey, it helps to keep me motivated by knowing I am inspiring others. As far as the site goes, I use it for general info, to give my two cents needed or not, and to be part of a community of those like me.

I also have told everyone about getting banded and am proud to say that I have a couple other of my friends ready to take the journey also. I have told one about this site, but the other is not into computers so I didn't tell him. I know my mother and son know about the site since they have seen me on it, but they would never read what I post unless I showed it to them. I also keep my friends on Facebook updated and that is how most of my family learns about what is happening with my band.

It's no secret but not many know that I jump on this site from time to time. I have a FB weight loss Page that I created for me and my closets friends but I don't openly share about my band. On here I'm able to talk a lil more freely because everyone or should I say most here can relate. I just don't want to be overweight again so whatever it takes.

Hubby knows about this site, I too share some of my fav's with him. He is super glad I have this forum for support and has ZERO interest in coming on here.

Hubby did complain once... when I forgot to record the 1st LSU game of this season. ..... I know, horrible horrible mistake!!!! When he asked what distracted me, I was honest & said "was online reading what my peeps had to say on the LB forum"... lol

...... G. E. A. U. X. Tigers!!!!!!!

Geaux tigers.....

Omg YESSS! Facebook was my outlet then I had family members and friends to friend request and was upset when I would accept. So I did and my posts became more comical than personal. I love this place. It's my secret circle. I can be honest and opened without judgment. Of course we get lectured but it's the good stuff

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
