DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 15, 2013 The further you go down on the scale the slower the weight comes off. I know people who've struggled for months to lose 5 pounds. What you're dealing with is pretty normal. I have found when I hit a stall, changing up my calories will "trick" my metabolism into action. For instance, I normally don't count carbs. The couple times I hit a plateau that lasted more than a month, I carb cycled to break the plateau. I know people who follow low carb normally but use the carb cycling to kick start their metabolism, too. Just remember, even if you keep doing what you're doing, the weight will eventually come off on it's own. Plateaus seriously suck but they are a very normal part of the weight loss journey. Best wishes. 2 mrsto and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
GuyMontag 1,264 Posted July 15, 2013 I always found weight loss to be about 80/20 diet/exercise. How's your exercise going? 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
mrsto 2,925 Posted July 15, 2013 When I hit a plateau, I up my calories a bit for a day or two. I only up them by about 200, but it seems to trick my metabolism, and stop it from "resting on its laurels" 3 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, backpacking5 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
LeeB1946 261 Posted July 15, 2013 I have been doing the 2 pound bump for a few weeks. UP and DOWN two pounds every 2 or 3 days. As you get closer to goal weight it does get harder to lose but it will come off. Sounds like you are doing great too. keep up the good work. 2 suzannetex and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Cwalband 215 Posted July 15, 2013 Sounds like you are doing amazing! So happy for you and I bet you will get to your goal very soon! Wgbem 138 Posted July 15, 2013 I have been plateaued for a long while. I still continue to track my intake, exercise, and get Water in but the scale has not moved in months. I am joining weight watchers today so perhaps that will get my weight moving. Anyone else had to do that ? 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

pink dahlia 2,513 Posted July 15, 2013 I was stuck at 169 for MONTHS, Dr. at last appt a few weeks ago told me I was eating too much, so he suggested about 1200 cals a day, up my exercise from 3-4 x a week to 5-6 x a week , and track my info on Fitnesspal.com. Did all that , im down to 160 !!! Woohoo !!! 2 suzannetex and mrsto reacted to this

Wgbem 138 Posted July 15, 2013 Just curious..... If you're tracking your intake, drinking all your Water and exercising, what is it that you think Weight Watchers is going to do? I am thinking perhaps it is mr combination of foods and while I am tracking and thinking I am going the right thing, perhaps they can show me something else. Also this is cheaper than going to a nutritionist and I get a reimbursement from my insurance so I am going to give it a try.
