deeberry 9 Posted July 14, 2013 The good thing for me is I didn't experience any gas pain that was my worst fear But before I was out of surgery my doctors Got all the air out of me So I never experience the gas pains So anyone going into surgery soon. JACKIEO85 308 Posted July 14, 2013 Yes it can be done, but not by pushing on your abdomen. 2 ways it can be done is to remove it through your Pulmonary system or intraperitoneal normal saline infusion..either of which I imagine is expensive. For most the gas pain resolves in days-week . FYI:Upper abdominal and shoulder pain after laparoscopic surgery is related to diaphragmatic irritation caused by retained carbon dioxide, which then causes referred pain to the shoulder via the phrenic nerve.
