Omg. Thank you. All of you. I assumed (and we all know what happens when you do that) since my sister woke after being banded with no hunger or desire to eat, I would feel the same way. Their were over something people having surgery but I was the only one being banded. All the rest were sleeved so I was on my own. Since I was doing so good I was well, left to be on my own. I pray now I didn't do any damage but if I did, it's my own fault.

Again, thanks for the help and ALL the advise. You guys are great!! I am back on liquids today and asked the surgery facility if I could introduce a small amount of Protein drink so I can my meds and not get sick. Of all the stuff I researched, I never heard of bandster hell or being this hungry post op.

You all rock, thank again!

Omg George! I'm so sorry you were left in the dark. This forum will give you a lit of insight. I suggest also reading the different articles on this site since the experts may be able to guide you through a lot too.

I would contact a Wls center and find out if they have nutrition classes for lap band patients. My local hospital offers them for free and are they are very helpful.

Best wishes to you!

And honestly, this forum is the best, if you want to learn about your band. Sure there are differences of opinion on how things are done, but for the most part, there are many people who willingly give up their time to help out someone who is just starting out, or even someone who's been around for a while, like me. ;)

Just read everything and make up your own mind on how to use the support people give you. But just a warning, sometimes we don't sugar coat things around here, so as long as you're willing to roll with the punches, you can make good friends and gather some keen supporters here who will help you every step of the way, if you just ask.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
