BriannasBand 24 Posted July 13, 2013 Can we have popcorn? The air popped kind not covered in butter and salt of course And second question My dr said 1 hard boil egg should fill me up in the morning but why are we allowed a full 1 cup at every meal if an egg is not 1 cup? Thanks everyone! -BriannaXOXO 2 addison5903 and pastor o reacted to this
dawalsh 919 Posted July 13, 2013 I have no issue with popcorn and eat it occasionally. I don't add butter but I do have salted popcorn. If you retain Fluid that might be a problem but I do enjoy popcorn. As far as a hard boiled egg is concerned, it does not fill me up but is a great source of Protein. I might have a boiled egg and a container of yogurt and my coffee for Breakfast. I save my coffee until last. Yogurt and a boiled egg will fill me but not just an egg by itself. 2 BriannasBand and pastor o reacted to this
srussell8 111 Posted July 13, 2013 I think a lot of people find that they are tighter in the morning, so sometimes it takes less to fill you up then. But I personally don't really notice a difference in the morning. A typical breakfast for me would be a breakfast burrito made with a low carb/high Fiber whole wheat tortilla (which bears a strong resemblance to brown construction paper - just sayin'), a slice of low-fat pepper jack cheese, and an egg scrambled with 1 oz of ham or turkey sausage. Some days I can eat all of it, and some days I can't. I just know that I do much better in the morning with a high Protein breakfast that fills me up - especially since I started working out in the morning. As for the popcorn, I can eat it if I want it. I just don't very often. To be honest, I have never found anything that I absolutely cannot eat if I want it. Full, heavy bread gets stuck easily - usually after one or two bites I'm done. Steak or pork chops are also harder to go down - but they are supposed to be. Usually after 2-3 ounces, I'm pretty full, if I'm not drinking anything. That's why for me that rule is so important. No drink - Protein first. If I do that, the whole thing works like a charm! Shelly 2 BriannasBand and pastor o reacted to this
The B 96 Posted July 13, 2013 popcorn bothers some and not others. The eggs though, hmmm I dont understand why your dr. said that, I personally do egg whites and it doesnt take much to fill me up, but i usually have some fruit or side with it. I would try it though and see if it does fill you up, if not tell your dr. and maybe have a healthy side as well. I want to say though, most of us are told to keep portions to no larger than a cup however you don't have to eat a cup if less keeps you satisfied, i rarely eat a whole cup of food more often it is 1/2 or 3/4 of a cup, at first if i barely could eat 1/4 of a cup of anything even a Protein shake. Good luck though, you'll figure out what works for you! 2 BriannasBand and pastor o reacted to this
BriannasBand 24 Posted July 14, 2013 See a hard boil egg doesn't feel me up either! And when he told me one should be I felt like something was wrong then but I guess everyone's different. So I just have two and I'm good. I noticed I'm not super tight in the morning either like most. What causes that anyway? I can eat pretty much everything too but I noticed I'm not wanting salads which is probably a good thing because it'll just take up soooo much room! If I make banana bread for my hubby I take a small slice and soak it in nonfat(cheating I know lol) it's not all the time. But I had some popcorn last night holy slider!! I better be careful. Probably ate more then I should of which felt really weird eating more so I stopped but that's a good thing!(: Thank for the advice! -BriannaXOXO 1 pastor o reacted to this
txsonicguy 262 Posted July 14, 2013 So far new problem for me with popcorn. I buy a product called Skinny Pop (Costco) that is 150 calories for 4 popped cups. Often I just go for 2. Add a little butter spray and it takes away any deprivation feelings. It also sneaks into the movies in my wife's purse very easily! We also make our own microwaved popcorn that's fairly healthy Take a brown paper lunch sack Add 1/4 teaspoon healthy oil - I use EVOO 1/4 c popcorn kernels Fold bag over and staple once (no problem in microwave) Cook on high 2 minutes or until popping slows Pour into bowl and top with butter spray and salt if desired 1 BriannasBand reacted to this
