How do you eat so little calories and still get all your Protein in?

In these early months, you can get your added Protein through shakes and food. Later on you should convert to just food. Be selective to get your protein.

You're still in the healing stage, anything you lose right now is you doing it on your own. You will lose when you start getting fills. Take it easy and heal, I know you're excited to lose weight right away, but it will happen in time. ;) it's better to lose slowly anyhow so that you don't have a bunch of extra skin.

I am 2 and 1/2 weeks out and really trying not to weigh myself like crazy but I am not losing. I lost 10 lbs in the first week and haven't lost a lb since. I am logging all my foods and am only eating soft foods. I use about 800 calories a day and average about 80 grams of Protein daily. I even have started working out four times this week. Feeling very frustrated. Any insight?

I think your workouts might be the culprit. I've read that high intensity excercise can be counterproductive at this stage of the game, that's why surgeons suggest just walking. A 30 minute walk does far more for you than strength training or other strenuous activities. Try swimming, pilates, yoga...but nothing that requires you to increase your heart rate too much. Some of us get a bit overzealous and want to see reductions so badly that we actually make our bodies work against us. Less is more right now. Leave the "workouts" alone until you start toning, right now you just need to burn fat and walking is enough to do that with the way you're eating. Stay in touch!

My Dr. said a pound a week is healthy. I think it's easy to expect more because we hear the stories of huge loses in a short time so we feel like we are failing another diet. You may have months you don't lose at all and other where you see a nice big drop. Also, you may need some extra Fiber. When you eat lots of Protein it can slow the digestive process. Hang in!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
