Remember, you're still healing! I went 3 weeks without losing a single pound right after surgery. Sounds like you're doing everything right, so just keep doing what you're doing and the weight will start coming off!

Are you sure you're getting enough calories? 800 calories seems awfully low unless you haven't got that much to lose.

Your body could be going into starvation mode and hanging onto every calorie you eat. I'm on 1500 but average about 1200 and I'm doing OK. My body goes into starvation mode when I go under 1000 calories. Ask your doctor or NUT if you're not sure. Good luck on your journey!

Give it time. Your body needs to get adjusted. It was used to a certain caloric intake for a long time and now its in shock. I can't say not to weigh yourself a lot cuz I weigh every morning so I can see if what I ate the day before is affecting me negatively or not. I would rather weigh once a week but I'm a perfectionist and have issues lol

Hi I had surgery on July 11 but I'm in a lot of pain us it normal

I was banded on July 3 and this is the first true day that I have felt normal. At times the pain was so bad that I wished I could take back having the surgery. So the pain will go away, it is totally normal.

I was banded on July 3rd. I have lost 10 pounds since my surgery and have the same thoughts you have concerning the weight loss. I get on the scale everyday expecting to see at least a 1 pound drop, yet the scale does not move. I am so discouraged as well. People tell me that Its only been a week and a half and that my body is healing. I feel that I barely eat as it is, how is the band going to help me. I hope this surgery wasn't all for nothing. I can say that people are noticing that my face, shoulder area and waist have slimmed down so I should be happy about that, I guess. Good luck to you!

Donyedd we share a Bandie bday :) I was banded 7/3 and have only lost 11-13 lbs (fluctuates daily) at first I was really upset cuz I would step on the scale and it would go down and then go back up! It's like everyday is groundhogs day and I'm seeing the same numbers. But after reading thru the forum I realized that right now ISN'T about weightless, it's about healing!! (As hard as that is and As much as we love to see ourselves losing) in my eyes, my body is trying to regulate itself after going on pre op diet, surgery, and now post op diet. We will reach our goals in due time, we need to prep our little bands and bodies for the battle first! Keep your head up! :)

I was banded on July third and have lost about eight pounds. I was put on solids a lot faster than most of you. Considering that is about two pounds a week I am happy with my weight loss. I know I am in this for the long haul. Like my husband says. You didn't put it on overnight so it isn't going to come off overnight. Also I am almost 47. My weight loss is going to be slower than someone I. Their twenties or thirties so I am content.

Make sure you take your pain meds. You need to be able to sleep to heal. Walk a lot too and drink, drink, drink. It will get better!

I ate between 500-700 while losing. Only eat when hungry, don't add calories just to add calories. Your body will tell you how many times to eat each day. I did chair yoga and lifted small weights with my arms while I was waiting to "really" exercise. Just keep moving? The weight loss will catch up with you. If you we're not exercising before WLS then you will also be gaining muscle. It will weigh more to start, but will help you burn fat! Keep doing what you are doing!

How do you eat so little calories and still get all your Protein in?

I try to always choose good Protein sources. I'm in the mushy stage and am allowed Cereal and mashed potatoes and stuff but usually choose eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, etc instead just for the protein. I also always have my Protein Shake.< /p>

Patience is the key! I had surgery 2 months ago and I lost 14 pounds after the first week of post-op. Then, I got stuck in weight. I had my first fill and after that, I was still super hungry. I got involved in a car accident a month after the surgery, so I couldn't exercise, but after my second fill (last week) I started loosing again after 2 months of frustration. Measure your calories! I was eating more than I should basically because I was super hungry but I'm feeling super good with my second fill and more in control to make good choices :)

So since I last posted on here I have lost weight! I increased my calories from 800/900 to 1200 and did varying calories each day. It was kind of difficult at first, but I lost 3 lbs! yay!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
