Sitting here sipping my Protein Drink on my 4th post op day. Feeling less pain, less gas and more human. Zero hunger and feel like I am getting some energy back. I am so glad I did this surgery and so thankful that all my new friends that have been banded this week are doing wel!!! Can't wait to see how we are all doing at Christmas!!!!

I m not able to drink much or eat much. Tried to eat some applesauce but only ate about 5 teaspoons n I was full. I m not hungry either. Tired of chicken broth hate the beef broth so I m trying some pudding today. Love the Popsicles even though half is all I can do if a single Popsicles not the twinsies like we used to have as kids.

I took two weeks off from work. I was banded Monday July 1 and returned to work earlier than anticipated in a reduced schedule and started in July 10. I took it easy Tried not to lift anything to heavy and lighten my therapy bag only bringing a few items to work it. Take it easy and remember to drink your Water and I packed my meals because I do home based therapy and travel from patient to patient :) good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
