lisacaron 5,075 Posted July 17, 2013 I had to come back here again today and read all your posts. I have my days where I just don't want to get up and go to the gym. I am sitting in this chair at work all day. I lose my motivation but I read this and it makes me want to get up and hit that gym and keep on moving! On my way there now, at least a 45 min. walk and I'll be happy with the goal of 10,000 steps for the day. That's about 2x the amount I used to walk in a day. 3 cflick, pastor o and SueBee01 reacted to this
Oblong 2 Posted July 19, 2013 I'm at the gym every day for two hours. (EEK!) I'm up at the buttcrack of dark, and it's two hours from the time I get there until I walk out to the car. I do thirty minutes on the treadmill, twenty minutes on the seated elliptical, twenty minutes on the stationary bike, ten minutes on the arm bike, and the rest of the time I'm on the abs machine, arm machine, and leg press. Part of this is the therapy I'm supposed to do as a result of being broadsided by someone who ran a red light. I go as fast as I can as much as my injuries will allow. Do any of you feel like we have to exercise twice as hard to loose a little bit of weight because our metabolisms are so messed up from yo-yo dieting? I would LOVE to be one of those people who only spend thrity minutes every other day at the gym and drop 80 pounds in a month. 1 pastor o reacted to this
lisacaron 5,075 Posted July 19, 2013 I do think we tend to work harder than most people to lose pounds. Your amazing though I would never be able to do all that every day. I just don't have the time. As it is I find the hour I spend in the gym, can be easily compromised by the demands of work, kids and family. I also think that we don't exercise the way we should be for our condition. We are overweight and trying to burn fat, and I think we tend to work out in extreme ways thinking the no pain no gain route is the way to go. When we should be focusing on our target heart rate to actually be in a fat burning state rather than an endurance state. Personally I think that the bariatric surgeons should add a physiologist to their staff along with the psycho dr. and the nutritionist. We all need some education on how to work out to most benefit our goals of weight loss and muscle tone and that aspect of this journey is definitely lacking. 1 pastor o reacted to this
kbell2011 131 Posted July 19, 2013 I'm consistent with 5 days a week. 3 of those days are CrossFit and the other 2 are either walking or a bike ride. 1 pastor o reacted to this
