Adrienne21 106 Posted July 12, 2013 I had a hard time laying down in every way after the surgery. A week after I had no problem laying on my right side, but my left side where my port is I could not do it. It was still swollen and caused pain. If it doesnt hurt you then go for it, if it does you might want to avoid it. how long have you had the band.

carol285 145 Posted July 12, 2013 I am also a side sleeper & found a quite comfortable way to sleep that way right after surgery. I put a body pillow in front & behind me so I was suggled in soft squishy pillows. It was very comfortable!! If you don't have body pillows two pillow on each side create the same feeling. Sharpie 3,306 Posted July 12, 2013 getting comfortable post op is a temporary problem.. in a few days you will be able to return to your normal sleeping mode.. I had a recliner and a pillow for my stomach... it didn't take too long before I was okay on my side...
Karen WS 78 Posted July 12, 2013 sleeping on my back also. I think my stomach is too swollen to sleep on my side or back.
rbmk14 59 Posted July 12, 2013 I'm day 2 post-op too and my doc told me yesterday that it's totally fine to sleep on my side or stomach as long as I'm comfortable. Last night I slept on my side for part of the night and it was comfy once I was on my side, just not when I was getting to my side lol. I sleep the best on my stomach but I don't want to try that just yet!
