I had a hard time laying down in every way after the surgery. A week after I had no problem laying on my right side, but my left side where my port is I could not do it. It was still swollen and caused pain. If it doesnt hurt you then go for it, if it does you might want to avoid it. :) how long have you had the band.

I am 2 days post op n I m a side sleeper. I could not sleep comfortably the first or second night. I was able to sleep on my left side last night with a small pillow under me. I take my time moving in bed. I feel better sitting up in the recliner most of the day. I have not gotten my pillows situAted yet! I guess I will get there in the coming weeks! How do I put my picture on this page? Help anyone?

I am also a side sleeper & found a quite comfortable way to sleep that way right after surgery. I put a body pillow in front & behind me so I was suggled in soft squishy pillows. It was very comfortable!! If you don't have body pillows two pillow on each side create the same feeling.

getting comfortable post op is a temporary problem.. in a few days you will be able to return to your normal sleeping mode.. I had a recliner and a pillow for my stomach... it didn't take too long before I was okay on my side...

I'm day 2 post-op too and my doc told me yesterday that it's totally fine to sleep on my side or stomach as long as I'm comfortable. Last night I slept on my side for part of the night and it was comfy once I was on my side, just not when I was getting to my side lol. I sleep the best on my stomach but I don't want to try that just yet!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
