Granny B 24 Posted July 12, 2013 I was banded on 4/19 and went today for my checkup with my primary care doctor. Before surgery, my A1C was down to 6.5 with diabetic medicines. Today, my A1C was 6.0!!!! Woo hoo! Able to go from 3 pills a day to 2....the doctor stated I will probably be off all meds in a few months! Two years ago, my A1C was over 8. I'm so excited...I wanted the lapband for mainly health reasons with the weight loss as a bonus. Can't wait for the future!!!! 6 Ceres, solson8201, chasingadream and 3 others reacted to this

pinklily27 61 Posted July 12, 2013 Awesome for you! I know being diabetic is a struggle and taking so many pills is a pain. Its great when we start getting healthy and the doc starts cutting back those meds. When I lost my initial 70 pounds I went off my all my blood pressure meds! Keep up the good work. solson8201 98 Posted July 13, 2013 Congratulations! I know how you feel as my Doc is very happy with the progress I am having with blood pressure. He just wrote me a new prescription with only 3 refills because he feels confident it won't be needed much longer. Yay us!
