WHEN can I take a Bath?

Recommended Posts

There is little I like more than taking a long soak in my big tub. I am MISSSING it!!!:think

I don't have any info about when I can re-commence indulging in my bath rituals.

Did any of you get any info from your docs on this issue? If so, plse advise as to what was passed on! I don't want to have a bath "too early" but I also don't want to have to wait longer than I need to....ya know?

Tks in advance!

Oh please do that now! *pinches nose*

*grin* Just teasing. I think you should be fine as long as your incisions arent open and icky. You wouldnt want nasty bath Water to be floating into open skin.

Of course, if you're really in doubt, give your surgeon's office a quick call and ask. :)

My doc said no soaking for 6 weeks or until the scabs fall off. I didn't listen all too well and it opened one of my smaller incisions, slowing the overall healing time and widening my scar.

Others have gone swimming or soaked and had no troubles. I think if you decide to 'skip ahead' you should find a good waterproof bandage to keep the scabs as dry as possible.

I am with you Yoda, I have two weeks to go, and my skin is so dry, I need a soak with some bath oil bad! Lotions just don't cut it for me, I hate taking the time and having my hands feel slimy. Bath oil is so much better, and I have a new bath pillow too.
