finallytime 134 Posted July 12, 2013 Been steadily losing since being banded on 12/14. And for the last 7 weeks just fluctuate the same 5 lbs. and this week I have been religious with working out and eating my 1000 calories and 60 grams of Protein and the scale says I am up 4 lbs WTF. I have only eaten 7000 calories for the week and 4 lbs is 14000 calories. How is this even possible. I have yet to get a fill and maybe it's time??? Just very frustrated
2muchfun 8,927 Posted July 12, 2013 First, losing weight is different from losing fat. Don't think that losing weight is a linear path to being skinny. It just doesn't work that way. Our body weight consists of many parts. Bones, muscle, fat, organs and skin just to mention a few. I can eat a high carb, high sodium meal and gain 5lbs in one day. But it's not fat, it's my body retaining fluids. I can also workout every day, eat only 1200 calories a day. I might lose 2 lbs of fat but I also may have created and built up 2 lbs of muscle and an extra 2 lbs of fluids that my body demands to help repair the damage I've done by breaking down my muscle tissues. If you are into measuring your body, you will notice it shrinking in size but possibly not see it on the scale? tmf 5 blondegal_, finallytime, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and 2 others reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 12, 2013 Plateaus are a normal part of weight loss and so are minor weight fluctuations. You have to remember, your body isn't a machine. It needs time to adjust to major changes and weight loss is one. It's not uncommon at all for plateaus to last weeks- sometimes even months. It's frustrating, I know I've been there, but it's all part of the process. If you keep doing what you're doing your weight loss will pick up again. As far as a fill, talk to your doctor to be sure. But typically speaking a plateau isn't reason to have a fill. The fills are to control and dim your hunger. If you feel your hunger isn't controlled as well then maybe you do need one. But if it's just because of the plateau? A fill won't help. Best wishes. 2 2muchfun and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

finallytime 134 Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks everyone for the good advice. Had a lot of Water last night and went to the gym this am for a run and then did my week weigh in and was only up .6 . I actually pay WW so I can go in every Friday for an 'official' weigh in. Worth the money for my sanity and accountability 1 2muchfun reacted to this
naturallyjai 129 Posted July 13, 2013 So glad you posted this. I was banded 12/19 and i have hit my first plateau. It's not fun but try to keep a positive outlook. I am still down below 300. That's a win for me. Look for the little things to keep you motivated.
