Just curious... Does anyone know the science behind the different "soft spots" people talk about? I haven't gotten there (yet), but if/when I do I would like to know what is going on in my body to do "that". Thanks!

I can't speak for all the different types of 'soft stops' but my old soft stop was a dripping nose, and my doctor explained that it was food getting too high up in the esophagus that caused that. I now get hiccups sometimes since being rebanded, other people get shoulder tip pain, etc but I have no idea why those soft stops occur.

I have wondered if it has anything to do with the vegus nerve. Maybe when we eat to a certain point it applies more pressure to the nerve and depending on what spot of the nerve is touched it effects that corresponding area. Just a thought, I don't know for sure how it works.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
