I think it is so funny after I eat, a few minutes later I let out a long burp and every one around me just look like are you ok, it is so strange to me, I wonder why I do that now.

I burp a little after each bite goes down but it's very small. I also get the internal hiccups. There isn't any noise it's more like 3 or 4 small muscle spasms in my stomach that passes the food through and lets me know I'm done eating.

I just thought it was so weird, because it is so loud I try to hold in, I was at church and I hadn't even eaten I let out the loudest growl and one of the ladies looked at me and said I sound like a lion, and then we both fell out laughing, I guess its just this new crazy thing my body does now..i don't know I thought I was the only one..

I get what I call "hiccurps" after eating. It's like combination hiccup and burp. I get about a half dozen of them every time I'm done eating.

I have been experiencing these today... Hiccurp. Or burcup.

I do it too! My huge man burps, as I call them, are random. They might come directly after a meal, or 30-40 minutes later. I don't feel them coming. They come with no warning at all. I can't tell you the number of strange looks I have gotten in restaurants, stores, etc., probably because when it happens, my kids, bf and myself, laugh uncontrollably because I'm usually so 'ladylike'!

Armonet, I know because that's what it sounds like, when it first started I was like what in the heck is going on in this body of mine, but as strange as it may sound I guess that's our trademark as lap banders..LOL OMG

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
