Annette_33815 8 Posted July 10, 2013 Hi all, i go over my upper GI results with my surgeon on friday but Im curious if anyone knows what it means when you tighten your stomach muscles during the test & barium flows back up your esophagus. Im NO doctor but I just came back from my upper gi series and there was a newbie doctor with the doctor watching as I drank the Fluid...he told me to tighten my stomach and he told the other newbie doctor it was to see if i had reflux....don't know if that helps any but thats what they said!?
