FentonMama 19 Posted July 10, 2013 I am nervous/ embarrassed to talk to my Dr. today It is the first time I am talking to her about a referral. I really hope having WLS will help my back problems I have not slept well in over a week.I have been obese most of my life but it has always been something I don't talk about. Did anyone else feel this way or am I the only one? Do you have any advice? anything I should ask her or talk to her about?
parisshel 1,892 Posted July 10, 2013 I can't imagine any doctor that would not be thrilled to see a patient be proactive about taking back his/her health. Go in with this in mind and the words will come out just fine. 1 FentonMama reacted to this
BklynPenny 51 Posted July 10, 2013 Hello, your PCP has your ticket for band land. Without a medical clearance you cant have surgery. Don't be embarrassed, go for it. The more research you have the more willing your Dr will be there for you. Good luck. Im off to the hospital for surgery. GoingforGoal 1,734 Posted July 10, 2013 Nothing you share with your doctor should be embarrassing. This is a mere reflection of your feelings regarding being obese etc. As a nurse, patients who are forthcoming and confident yield the best results because they recognize that a proactive attitude can give them the success they seek. So go in there and just tell him that today is the day you want to change your life. 1 mrsto reacted to this
