Arizona fill doctor

Looking for a fill doctor in the Phoenix area. Getting banded in Mexico. Some threads are really old, that is why I am starting this one.

Thanks,

George

So seriously, is anyone in the Phoenix area doing self pay? This is getting ridiculous. One doctor, Dr, Stevenson, wanted $260 just to be seen and $200 for a fill. The other, at WLIA is a $500 fee and $200+ a fill. Are you kidding me. It would be cheaper to go back to Mexico for Christ sake.

With the ridiculous fees these doctors want, they can ALL kiss my ass! I'm going back to Mexico.

I was wondering the same thing. Banded in Mexico (Ortiz) and wanted to see what the cost would be to get filled here. If those prices are correct I'll be heading back down there soon.

At least I get a few days off and a trip out of Phoenix! Only hassle I've ever had is getting back across the border into the states. Standing in line sucks!

Please let me know if you find anyone cheaper!

Cheapest I found here, in Phoenix, was $250 a fill. Still not sure if I am going to go back to Mexico or get it here.

It is expensive for fills anywhere you go. Thank goodness for insurance. I haven't had a fill in over a year. I have a 10cc band & have 7.5cc in it. I hope it works out for you.

First fill was Friday and it was $250. He put 1cc into my 4cc band and might as well have put nothing in it. No restriction, hungry after a few hours and can eat the same amount I did before I was banded.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
