Binx125 15 Posted July 9, 2013 I'm 11 days post op, down about 16lbs- very grateful for that. Problem is I'm having terrible pain. I've read some post about the vegus nerve damage and now convinced that is what I have. Ever since the surgery I've had a runny nose and my ears are muffled(not due to flu). I also have servere shoulder and stomach pains. At about 2pm everyday and when I start to get hungry, each hungerpain will be 10times worse than before banding and that shoots up the worst pain to my shoulder, that lasts up to an hour. Will this eventually go away or am I stuck with this for life??
Terry Poperszky 2,784 Posted July 9, 2013 And what did your Dr. say when you talked to them about the symptoms you are having? 2 mrsto and PrettyThick1 reacted to this
Cwalband 215 Posted July 9, 2013 Aww man, I'm so sorry you are feeling like that. I'd say the best thing is consult your Doc. I'm not sure what is normal and abnormal but I would for sure call and see. I really hope you start feeling better soon and get everything is taken care of! mrsto 2,925 Posted July 9, 2013 Your doctor is the only one who can diagnose your particular issues. However, it seems way too early to know if what you're feeling is permanent "forever" damage, or just post-op healing. If I were a betting woman, I would say the latter of the two. Hope you feel better sooner than later.
MountainMan 69 Posted July 9, 2013 I had a similar experience. The pain in my shoulder was very sharp but gradually decreased until it disappeared completely about three-four weeks post-op. Using a heating pad helped me a lot. Hope you feel better soon!
ksaug21 81 Posted July 9, 2013 I had the shoulder pain too and it will cease. It takes time.
PrettyThick1 1,860 Posted July 9, 2013 Consult your doctor, I have no clue what could be going on. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but I think it passes. I had painful hunger paings for a few days, but I'm over that now - I know when I'm hungry, it just doesn't hurt anymore.
