Sleep Apnea , Now What?

Ok my surgeon requested that I so a sleep study . I just got the results and I so have it . I'm not surprised due to being so overweight . My surgery is Friday , July 5 th! My surgeon requested that I do a second night with the mask . Do I wait till after the surgery ?

That is not uncommon. I had to use the CRAP mask for eight months. Now I don't have to anymore. Hopefully it will be temporary for you too. Once I got used to it I couldn't believe how much better I felt. I definitely was not getting a good nights sleep!

Did they say you need a cpap? (The machine for night sleeping) chances are you will spend 1 night atleast in the hospital post op. Just curious, it was the surgeon or the pulmonologist?

Yeah they said I need it for the 1nd study to see of it helps ! It was my lapband surgeon

I had to get a crap, I feel soooo much better now. and there are studies that show using one can help with weight loss. Good Luck

Looks like I will be getting one . But my surgeon says the surgery is still on . The only thing is he will keep me overnight . I'm cool with that . I called the nurse and she had me worried saying how they need to know what level of oxygen to give me. My doctor didn't seem too concerned or. Like it was out of the ordinary . So that's good news. Because I would have been really bombed if we had to postpone .
