Hello everybody, I'm new hear I would like to thank everyone for sharing all there success stories it's been a great motivation tool for me. My surgery was May 21st and I feel great but I don't feel that i have lost as much as I should of my starting weight was 225 and I now weigh 212. Only 13lbs I am going to start going to the gym tomorrow I know that will help. Has anyone else started out this slow?

Everyone has their own journey and some are slower than others. 13lbs is great and you should feel proud. Do you have a local support group? Having local support can be so helpful and I highly recommend it. There are also lots of great people here in the forums that can offer fantastic support as well. Good luck on your journey and don't get discouraged!

Thank you and I am trying to find a local support group. I go in for my second fill on the 10th I'm hoping that will help with my hunger.

I consider myself a slow loser, but a slow loss is better than no loss. It has taken me almost 6 months to lose 35 pounds. Please don't compare your progress to others because it will get you down. Just focus on YOU! Best wishes! :)

I'm a very slow loser and ALWAYS have been. A good weight loss average with the band is 1-2 pounds a week.frustrating? Yes, but if you lose a pound a week that's 52 lbs per year and that is phenomenol!

From surgery to goal weight, my average weight loss per week was about a pound. I still lost more after that, but even more slowly. You're doing GREAT - keep it up and you'll get to where you want to be!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
