Tricia K. 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Good for you, telly!! I too have to make up for what I didn't do yesterday but I'm planning on doing it later today.Ok, well I didn't do as much exercise today as I thought I would do. Unless, of course, you consider stuffing your face with charbroiled oysters and apple cobbler working out. Ugh...I do have somewhat of an excuse...I think. My friend Shonda is here visiting from Oregon and I'm kind of just taking things easy and treating myself to a few more things than usual. Once she's gone, I'll get back on track again. If I don't, I give telly permission to kick my ass!!
MarianneTN 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Noooo! No ass kickin' from Telly!! My exercise today was... Treadmill--30 minutes at a pretty steady 2.8-3.0 pace (can you say whipped...man I'm outta shape!) Weights--worked at the various weight stations for 30 minutes. Did low weight/high reps (10 lbs/15 reps/3 sets) Worked arms. Legs get it tomrrow. Have a great Friday! Jachut 487 Posted May 19, 2006 6km run on the treadmill at an incline of 3, plus I did all of the housework today and walked the length and breadth of Chadstone (largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere). But I went out for dinner for Mexican (right after a .3 ml fill, am I nuts or what, it all went down fine), tee hee, so probably undid all my good work. Tricia K. 0 Posted May 19, 2006 10 minutes of Tricia_K ass kicking:biggrin1: Believe me, I need it. BTW, I love the quote from TOP CHEF. My favorite is "I'm not your bitch, bitch!" and I think I'm going to buy one of their t-shirts. Ok, after I've had my coffee, I'm going to ride my bike for 3 miles. Telly 4 Posted May 19, 2006 Thanks Tricia_K... Ok I went all over reading in different threads and I must say that there's soo much and soo many different kind of topics.. and all I can say is "I've gone cross eyed!"
thenewksc 0 Posted May 19, 2006 I am so proud of myself. On Sunday, with all my friends and family watching, I completed the 2006 Danskin Women's Triathlon at Disney (1/4-mile swim; 9 mile bike; then a 2 mile run). It was such an emotional time, not only for my weight loss goal, but that the event supports breast cancer research and many of the participants are survivors. I started training for it just after New Year's and met my fitness goal 63 lbs. lighter. I teared up at the check-in, the start line, running through Cinderella's Castle and down right broke down at the finish line. What a feeling! I'm still in the clouds. Any of you bandsters looking for a good fitness challenge to keep you going and help melt off those lbs., I highly recommend the Danskin Triathlon series. Check it out at http://www.danskin.com/triathlon.html. The entire experience was so positive. They really keep you motivated with training tips, seminars, cheerleaders throughout the route and other athletes. I can't wait for next year.

In order for me to avoid the "I've gone cross-eyed" state of mind, I limit myself to threads that interest me.

Thenewksc, You participated in something that tests your overall mental strength as well as your physical endurance and you made it! You made it and you did it for you. I know it must have tasted sweet to see family there, cheering you on and then to witness your follow-through and completion. I commend you and I proud of you for getting 63lbs off of you and I'm pretty sure you lost 2 - 4lbs during that competition. Congratulations to you. I'm looking forward to possibly competing in a Triathlon in California in Aug/Sept. Challenges like this are pure Triumphs, whether we make it to the finish line first or not. We still win.:clap2:
