Telly 4 Posted November 10, 2006 Kat..I started a week out. Took it easy with low intensity workouts such as biking and walking. You should be able to should you feel "OK" to go. Just talk with your doctor.
linadu 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Hi, I was banded Oct. 18th and I'm just starting to walk on my treadmill for 30 min. a day. I want to bump it up everyweek until I'm walking faster and longer. My DS is going to help me set up a program when he comes home for x-mas. I know that I want to be half as good as Telly is eventually and I will be very very happy
kareyquilts 1 Posted November 11, 2006 I wanted to join the exercise band wagon. I have been trying very hard to improve. Unfortunately, my cardiologist just put a temporary halt to any exercise besides walking. :faint: My echo stress test was not good. I'm having a new kind of CAT Monday, where they slow your heart way down and then inject dye to take a virtual angiogram. My doctor thinks I might have a blockage. :Banane20: So, once again, I have to be very patient! I just want to be a star and everytime I turn around something is holding me back. Well, count your blessings if your healthy and can exercise and don't take it for granted. Hopefully, I'll be back on the treadmill soon.

I will pray for you and with the blockage, in this day and age, we have enough advanced technology to fix you. Go in there like a trooper. Once you are all healed up after the angiogram..etc...then start again. I know it's frustrating to want to do something..only to come to speedbumps. You'll be back on the treadmill in no time, till then, I will be praying for you and I am reminded to count my blessings. Telly

TruBlueSue 0 Posted November 14, 2006 Exercise - just started back to exercise after a long lay-ff. Got a personal trainer a couple of times a week for the butt kicking; started today going extra and doing cardio...so today I rode the bike for an hour on level 6 with hills - man, it kicked my ass but it felt totally good, too! Woohooo....haven't felt this 'super' since I was in Iraq!! (2003 and before a roadside bomb screwed up my knee, etc., etc...) Telly - you are the woman! Lurking here and reading your stuff has given me the encouragement I needed when I thought that all I would ever do again athletics wise was eat...lol!!! You can do anything you set your mind and heart to. I don't care what people say.... I go against the grain of the wood and so can you. How have you been doing? Exercise wise? TruBlueSue 0 Posted November 28, 2006 I've been doing okay...I am doing an hour of cardio three times a week and an hour of resistance training twice a week with a personal trainer...I'm working up to three days each at about 90min a time...between my work schedule, school schedule and my three year old, I find the only way for me to get my exercise in is to do it all at once... TruBlueSue 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Girl, you were the one that got me off my ass and into the gym...I see your success and your Hoo-yah attitude, and it makes me remember how I was a long time ago...when I had the 'ovaries' (haha) to go in the military and do airborne school...sometimes I miss that girl, but I like my head better now...know what I mean? lol...You rock, Telly!! juliegeraci 7 Posted November 28, 2006 I went to Curves again today. I cut out all alcohol from my diet. I know that is a big no no but for me its the hardest, especially at this time of the year.
Telly 4 Posted November 28, 2006 That's great juliegeraci that you are back at the gym. The great thing about life is... if you should fall off of the wagon, you can always climb back on. It's never too late until it's too late...know what I mean. Also I had a doozy with Tequila last weekend but it was worth the 4 hours of Deuce card playing and ultimately losing almost every other hand. Everything in moderation. juliegeraci 7 Posted November 28, 2006 Oh yes, the ol' tequila. Casadores is my friend. Yes in moderation, which is difficult for me if you know what I mean. Feels good to be back in the gym. I'm down 1 size since surgery but overall including what I did before surgery I'm down 70 lbs from my high. Feels good to be in a size 22 but now I am motivated for that size 20. Take care.
