Wow. I am so out of the loop!!!

It's freaking cold here. I don't understand how it was 114 a month ago and now 70. WIERD!!! I walked and walked and ran and walked around 10, maybe more vineyards at work today. I'm not sure if my legs are still attached. Oh wait, thats DIRT everywhere. I guess they are. I'm going to try to go to the gym tomorrow. Its been too long, and I'm not losing. Need to refocus!!!

WELCOME BACK TELLY!!!! WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!! I HOPE YOUR BREAK WAS GOOD FOR YOU. We missed you and your kick ass motivation. I think it makes people realize how influential others are. I hope you are well.

OOoooo I didn't see this msg.

Thank you Lookingout! It's a really awesome feeling when you know you help motivate others to be better, healthier people. You have to know that you guys do the same for me. I come here to get motivated as well. Though I had taken a 2 week break from LBT, I did not stop working out as usual. I'll never stop.

Rock on everyone!:peace::rockon:

Wow, You guys are inspiring!!!!!!!!!!

These are some serious work outs. Geez, I was going to feel proud to say that my husband and I walked 3 times this weekend. Iam proud though. I have been losing weight so fast that I havent even really focused on exercise, but I KNOW it is key to keeping the pounds coming off and being healthy.

SO yay for me and YAY for all you bad ass bandsters !!!!!!!!!!!!

I really want to get my bike out and start riding, my husband loves to ride he used to do it all the time. Hey, new goal to start riding again!!!

Hi Stephanie and Yay for you and your hubby with the 3 miles. That's truly an accomplishment. You HAVE to be proud!

Biking is great fun, freedom feeling kinda workout. Just strap on an iPod or MP3 player and you won't even know you biked 10+ miles.

Losha, doc says 6 weeks before you can lift weights or even crunches. If you do crunches before then, my guess is it could directly upset your stitches of the port to your muscle. I wouldn't risk it.

*Is it stitched to the muscle? I'm not sure.*

Did 3 miles and 400 crunches today.

I finally got back into a work out schedule!! While I was waiting to get LB approval I stopped so I would not drop #'s. I dont go to the gym because of the superfit- instead I use our local Rec center and it only costs $50 per year!! The only downfall is that they are not open before 0800 and to get the equipment I prefer I have to wait until 830pm. Luckily they are open until 10pm.

Does it matter for weight loss if your heart rate is in the cardio zone vs the lower weight loss zone? No matter how low the elipitical is my heart rate is always in the cardio zone.

If you are in the cardio zone, you surpassed the fat burning zone. You are definately losing weight b/c you are burning lots of calories. So say you're 30 and your heart rate is 150bpm's...you are in cardio zone and you're burning baby!

Congrats to all of you I was just banded on August 9th and I'm waiting to be able to excercise I have started walking every night and got some small weights to lift to work on my arms. I don't want to have to have PS so I'm hoping the excercising helps with the flabby skin after the weight starts coming off. I know I can't do any stomach excercises now but once my DR says its ok I hope to really kick in with the excercise. Has their been a good outcome when adding so much excercise, does it help with the flabby skin??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
