I went for my 3rd fill yesterday and my surgeon couldn't do it because my lap and is twisted. Anyone here ever have that problem? He is going to do the fill next week under fluoro.

His words were "it's twisted" and because of that he wasn't able to give me a fill. He's going to try under fluoro but he seems to think he may need to make an incision to "untwist" it.

So, it's your port that is twisted? My lapband twisted my stomach into a very unfortunate shape, causing a lot of damage and obstruction. You'd know if your stomach was twisted. The pain would be horrible. If your port is not where it should be, you might need surgery to reposition it. If your stomach is twisted, you'll want to have corrective surgery immediately.

My port had flipped some time after my surgery and when I went in for my first fill my Dr couldn't put saline in as the correct side was facing down. I had to have another surgery to correct it. It has been almost three weeks and am looking forward to my next fill. My Dr. Said it was the first time he had seen that. I think it happened when I was walking my dog on leash and she took off after something- pulling me along. My Dr thought it could have been caused from working out. Good luck to you! The port surgery was much easier!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
