gowalking 10,790 Posted July 2, 2013 Taking a 5.5 hour trip on the 4th. Haven't had a long ride since banding. Any suggestions on curbing the shock to my system of not munching the entire trip? Bring healthy Snacks and if the junk is what you are craving, remember those bad choices are what got you here in the first place. I'm not sure how long you are banded but you should be OK with things like yogurt and soft cheese...if you are able to eat all foods, some fruit or a handful of almonds...and drink, drink, drink. Have fun on your roadtrip! 1 Quahog reacted to this
dylanmiles23 2,198 Posted July 2, 2013 Have a fun time and enjoy the ride. I never leave home without my Protein Bars. I have 2-3 with me all the time even if I plan on going out for 1-2 hours, you never know. Also, fruit, grapes or cut up melon is good. I also have, per dietitian, Carnation Instant Breakfast high Protein Shakes. They taste, so-so but they are good for a trip also. They gave me that before I went home from the hospital after the band Happy 4th!! 1 Quahog reacted to this
heather316 72 Posted July 2, 2013 Maybe you can just drink Water, i know it will make you do more stops during the trip.... 1 Quahog reacted to this
Quahog 134 Posted July 2, 2013 I think I will take the opportunity to sample as many crystal light packets as I can. I bottle per hour, also per state! But a s'more pure Protein bar as my 4th of July treat!! Thanks
