Hate my band today!

Recommended Posts

I just need to vent.

I'm Havin a day where nothing goes down, everything I attempt gets stuck, even my 'go to' foods. I'm sick of shakes and liquids and I would just about KILL for a nice chicken and salad sandwich! I started as a low BMI bandster last November. I'm not far off my goals but I have days where I get so frustrated that I can't eat seemingly 'normal' foods without some

Form of discomfort. I know today is just an off day and tomoro will be better. I just need to get it out to those who understand and who have times where they just wanna resort to bad things that don't cause any grief! Tell me you all feel my

Pain!

I know the feeling. I had a fill last December that finally gave me restriction. Did not get my first actual food stick until about a year in. I think maybe my fill is actually a little too much for me because now all the healthy stuff is getting stuck too. It is making me drink my calories rather than eat food. I am also off my Protein routine. I hate the drinks now and keep lying that I can manage the Protein with food alone. But I know I don't. When days get bad I always drink hot liquids before eating. Loosens the stoma.

Yup, the killer for me is when a food goes down just fine one time and later on that same day gets stuck.

Do you all find stress effects your ability to eat on certain days?

Yes!

For me salt has a huge part. If I eat anything that is salty, my stoma will be swollen by the next day and its liquids only for me for at least 24 hours. I try to steer clear of salt at all times now.

And that means all pre packages processed foods that are high in sodium!

I have the same problem.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
