jsbk 3 Posted June 30, 2013 I have a somewhat rare skin condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa, its genetic and I know with weight loss it won't go away but it is exacerbated by obesity. I am concerned because since my surgery I haven't been taking my medication as I was told not to swallow pills until my doctor says it is okay. I have an appointment in November with my dermatologist and I plan to discuss different treatment options post lap-band surgery. I was just wondering if anyone out there has H.S. and what has your experience been since loosing weight?
stept04 465 Posted June 30, 2013 I have Psoriasis it is also a skin disorder and is genetic. Also it is an autoimmune disorder. I don't take a pill I take a shot and thankfully was able to keep it up during this process. The only way that weight contributes to the disorder is in the fat folds of the skin, it gets worse so I am looking forward to that being eliminated some or all for that matter. It is also effected by food and stress so if the new way I eat and if I'm not as stressed that would help too. Good luck with yours. ~~~Stephanie
jsbk 3 Posted July 5, 2013 Saw my doctor a few days ago, he said I can start back on my medication. All is well with the world...for now!
makemeova36 23 Posted July 6, 2013 I was banded 5/30/13 and I also have H.S. I am hoping that weight loss will slow down my outbreaks. Glad you're able to get back on your meds. 1 Neka reacted to this
