Hi everyone... I am 5 months post op and have done great so far. But on Wednesday I had a fill and they only put in .25 at my request. I did great wed and Thursday only eating soft mushy foods. On Friday I had some moist Salisbury steak, very small pieces, and I have been throwing up since. Not even keeping Water down. Today I'm able to keep most water down but that's about it. Should I go back to the doctors on Monday and have some saline removed or will this pass?

I'm not banded yet but my doctor said if you throw up at all you should go see your doctor ASAP for an unfill. Definitely go in on Monday!

I agree, you must have Fluid intake, that is very critical. It sounds like you are stuck. Many folks on here have problems with steak. Hope you are doing better.

Thank you all!!! I did have to go to ER AND THEY Removed all the Fluid that I had put in since surgery. Have to start from square one again but at least I'm better and now they know what the max I can handle in my band. Not that that's the way to find out but I now know all the signs and hope it doesn't ever happen again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
