So I'm on day 5 pre op. Doing well although I think my body is in shock. I dreamt last night I had eaten breaded deep fried fish and was standing at a dessert table thinking what had the least calories and knowing in my head I was cheating. I felt soooo guilty. Anyway, when I woke up I was so happy that is was a dream and I haven't fallen off once. Got on the scale and I'm 9 pounds down in 5 days. Wow no fried food or any dessert can make me feel that good! Just thought I'd share. Happy Friday:)

That's a pretty good deal!! You can have it in your dreams without feeling guilty. Think of something extra delicious before bed tonight to eat, enjoy!

everyone's is different from what I've been reading. Mine is 800-1000 cal a day.

70-90 g Protein with shakes being Breakfast and lunch with a Protein Bar in the middle for snack. dinner is 3-4 oz of lean meat and half cup of starch and veggies. Totaling no more than 350 cal at dinner. I'll be a week in on Monday tomorrow with one more week to go. Band date is the 9th. I've lost 10 pounds since Monday. Crazy! First few days were very hard but it gets easier and now I'm used to it. It's just routine and I love seeing the scale go down. Don't get me wrong I still have tough moments like today At Nascar race. Corn dogs funnel cakes nachos cheeseburger fries. U name it.... I had my Protein Shakes before I left and Protein Bar while my bf was eating junk. Very hard but I made it. Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
