That will depend upon your surgeon and how busy he is. You should ask the office.

Yep at that point you are clear and it's first available per your surgeons surgery schedule. It took less than 3 weeks for us

I got the approval and they scheduled the surgery. I would have only had to wait 2 weeks (time to do the preop diet) but my surgeon was going on vacation so it was 4 weeks. It was quick!

In my case they scheduled the surgery and then they submitted it. I am scheduled for the 7/25, I am calling tomorrow to see if it was approved.

It is about 6 weeks for me - due to surgeon's schedule and the 4th of July holiday.

I was approved on May 30th and my surgeon was booked until my surgery date of July 22nd. So about 7 weeks. Originally I was scheduled for June 24th but they called me with the change. My wait is a little long and I'm a little anxious for it to be here already but the time has been flying by as I prepare for it all! Hopefully you hear something soon!!! Best Wishes.

My consultation was may 8th I think and that same day they have me a surgery date if I went and did all the other doctors for clearance. They told me that day I need to see a pulminologist, cardiologists, gastrolohist, psychiatrist, and go back to gastro for a endoscopy test. I also had to attend two nutrition classes that went over pre and post diet and how to properly chew etc after surgery. I was lucky because there was a medical building that had all thee docs (pulm, cardio, gastro) that all accepted my insurance and I saw all three in one day. Good luck!

I was approved 4 days after submitting to Cigna insurance and my surgeons office was right on top on it and offered my a date that week, but my work asked if I could give them a two weeks heads up so I scheduled it two weeks after approval.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
