I like your post because it's a good reminder that fills follow us for a life time. Newbies may expect that once they reach green that that's it. No more fills. However, weight loss, pregnancy, complications and even saline evaporation etcetc may warrant unfills and fills throughout our journey. I got a fill last May, first one in 3.5 years. I was ready to get back on track and my last fill was maintaining me at 195, my new fill maintains me at 155. Thanks for the post

I am at 153 was 241. But I am still nervous I am too tight everything stays down and nothing is conning back up !!! But I can only eat literally half of what is was eating before Tuesday ! That's why I am afraid I am too tight. But no sliming , no vomiting and I had salad today with chicken on it and ate about half then I could feel it when I burped a little then I knew it was time to stop. I am scared I guess cause I know a friend that would eat three bites and be full full and her bmd slipped !

are you feeling satisfied after eating a few bites, or are you feeling discomfort and pain? If its not pain, then I wouldn't assume that you have a slipped band.

I would disagree. Signs of slippage usually involve nausea, new onset of acid reflux, ability to eat larger portions suddenly or the opposite-difficulty eating/drinking at all, sometimes abdominal pain etc. The fact that you are asymptomatic can mean that your band is on the tighter end of your green zone. I would food journal and ensure that you are getting adequate protein/nutrition and fluids. If not, than you are too tight, simply because you can not take in minimum nutritional requirements. Sometimes a mere 0.1-0.5cc removed will keep you green but allow you to eat more and consume your minimum nutrition. I always recommend being on the loser side of green to prevent complications such as erosion, slippage etc. It's not necessary to be so tight you become symptomatic or cannot eat properly. Being day 3 you can still be inflamed, just depends on how much of a fill you added. I noticed I am much more sensitive to fills now that Im 3.5 yrs out. At 6cc I could not swallow Water at 5.5 I'm at green. :)

Well I will keep a eye out on what I eat ! So I have no more nausea ! I only had it for a hour ! I was making my self nervous. I was able to eat a small salad with chicken today and some chicken salad and some carrots and I will have some chicken for dinner. The only weirdness I have is just a slight tightness in my chest! But I called the dr today ! They said as long as I am not bringing anything back up just see how I am untill Monday ! I think now I am a little hesitant to eat. I got really scared yesterday cause I was burping but I burp a lot since ingot the band. And just a little more salvia when eating. But other then that I have no problems. This has been my fist fill in a year .

I had my first fill 2 days ago and I have a little tightness in my chest after I eat too. Everything goes down fine and no sliming. I hope that doesn't mean the food is sitting on top of my band! I can't imagine that's what it is because I can drink Water during this feeling just fine.

Well, since you are okay, now, can't add to much, drehn88. Just want to advise that you might want to stick to liquids following a fill for a day or two! Bets wishes to all newbies and oldbies, tooKaren

Now I can eat everything ! Today no issues at all

The oh thing I worry is during my cycle. So I going to see my dr to let her take out a 1/4 of what they put in just to be on the safe side. Cause I have not tried to eat a full plate yet with chicken and veggies. Had some lunch meat roast need today and no prob but if it is denser something may go wrong. Rather be safe then sorry

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
