Dr. Marsden. He is doing my revision. Banded on 6/14 and the port was flipped. Found out at my first fill. He is very qualified, and his practice speaks for it.

Yes I had Lapband in 08 and have had am erosion so band needs to come out. Dr Alexander told me to not out it back in so his team recommended bypass. I was hesitant until he showed me the complication reports where the band is at the same risk level as Lapband. Dr Alexander was the best surgeon I ,et as I tried 3 or four and he just knew the most. When I consulted with him he sat solely with me for two hours. he listened and asked about all aspects of the band and then what to do from then on. I had a choice between sleeve and bypass and he stated sleeve is great but because they don't have alot of long term surgery results in sleeve for a revision bypass is best

I see Francis Veninga in Carrollton and I love him. He did my band in 2009, gallbladder in May and revision to sleeve on 7/10. I love his staff too. He really took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with my decision.

I had Dr. Scott Stowers with Bariactric Solutions he was really good. He has an office in Dallas, they also have a bus that goes around to different places to do fills they are good at what they do they use a fluoroscope to do all their fills. I think cash pay is 150.00 for a fill. I don't pay anything with my insurance.

Dr. Adam Smith is my doctor. He is wonderful, sweet, passionate and on the plus side he has had the Lap-Band surgery him self and most of his staff have as well. They are all walking advertisements of how the band can work if used correctly. :D Check him out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
