italianmama82 2 Posted June 26, 2013 I am in California and have United Healthcare insurance through work. I believe I called and asked them if they cover any WLS an they said no. The Dr I have my consultation with this week said they take that insurance and most patients are covered. Does anyone else have united health and was covered? Or has anyone been told they aren't covered but when the dr submitted the info they were covered?

ReddFoxx 10 Posted June 27, 2013 I have UHC through my husband and I am covered. However, there were requirements to fulfill like 6 months of supervised visits, psyche evaluation, nutritionist. I'm waiting on my approval any day now.....
Gardnergirl2 96 Posted June 29, 2013 It not only depends on what insurer, but your company may have their own agreement with uhc. Ask for a copy of your SPD ( summary plan description ) and you ll have your plan specific info.
