A week ago today I had my third fill (7.5cc in a 10cc band). I am able to keep liquids and some solid foods down. However, I have thrown up many foods I think I should be able to eat, (dark meat chicken, egg whites, etc.) and I am chewing my food completely / taking small bites.

Like I said, I am keeping down some things. And I had been successful with the previous fill. I have lost 46 lbs since my surgery in March.

But has anyone else experienced this after a fill? Did it get better and you adjusted to the "new normal" or should I consider having some saline removed?

It's a gray area. Because you can eat some food and have no problems with liquids, some would say learn to adjust without the things you can eat. Others would say you're too tight.

Personally, I'd get some Fluid removed. Just a tiny little bit might make a huge difference. I got my band to live healthy and enjoy food in moderation. If I couldn't eat a whole a list of foods, especially healthy ones, for me it would be totally counter productive.

I'd talk to your doctor and let him help you decide.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
