I am having problems with things getting stuck in my chest, is that normal or have I had a slip? I have not had my first fill yet.

Totally normal, your not chewing enough... Nothing solid and nothing starchy at first. I used to have the hardest time with rice and tortillas. What are you eating?

I have found that bread gets stuck every time I have tried to eat it and a couple of times chicken breast meat got stuck. I mostly stick with my phase 2 foods cause I'm afraid to eat.i have a lot of sugar free Popsicles , sugar free pudding, cottage cheese and boiled eggs but sometimes the boiled eggs like to stick.

Best advice, is to slow down... Very small butes and take your time. you don't get points anymore for finishing early. I could eat anything I wanted with time and tiny bites.

Stop with the sugar free stuff, it's reinforcing the sugar thing. For me I was crazy hungry after I ate something sweet whether it was sugar free or not. Protein Protein protein... Trust me it will be way easier with time.

Realize that your eating because of habit or your thirsty. Get busy and drink more water... Doc gave me a goal of 60-80grams of protein a day. Tough to get unless you work at it.

yes thats totally normal just slow down a little bit and maybe smaller bites and more chewing. with a slip you would either be in a lot of pain unable to swallow or for me it was a little pain but nothing un normal but i got a little more hungry and was able to eat a lot more then i used to so dont worry.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
