Post Surgery- 5 days and having hunger pains

Recommended Posts

My sugery was this past June 18th (my birthday) and I have having severe hunger pains now. It started a little yesterday but today is bad and my stomach is rumbling. I am pretty much only drinking Protein Shakes and drinking Water. Am I not drinking enough? Is this normal? I'm not supposed to start puree food until Wednesday and need a way to get though this. Any advise will be appreciated....Thanks, Robin

Hi,

I was banded on June 6th, and I know what you mean about the hunger pains. I made sure I was getting in 75 grams of Protein with my shakes. I also started adding hot Decaf tea , and beef or chicken broth, this helped me with the hunger pains. Hope this helps , and good luck !

Keep bottles Water around. Seeing the bottles might make you remember to drink. Try to drink some every hour that might help.

Warm broth seemed to quiet my stomach at first. Make sure you are getting all of your Water.< /p>

Maybe add a little extra prtein in your drinks.< /p>

How about some sugar free popsicles, so you can chew something? Helped me.
