camary1968 3 Posted June 23, 2013 I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and have lost close to 40lbs, but I'm still wearing the same size. If thats possible. Granted they fit a little loser but it's still the same size. I feel good about the weight loss, but discouraged clothing. I know that I'm doing everything right, but I feel that I should be seeing better results. A little encouragement is needed right about now, please HELP. missybear 86 Posted June 23, 2013 Is it the type of clothes your wearing, like stretchy material? I had some clothes that fitted for a fair while, especially dresses. It was clothes like jeans, fitted shirts and shorts that I was able to fit into smaller sizes that really helped me feel like I was losing weight. 2 stept04 and camary1968 reacted to this
healthy and happy 64 Posted June 23, 2013 Don't worry. The smaller you get the faster the sizes will change. I was 253 pounds when I started and I too lost probably 30 pounds before I changed sizes but then every 10-15 pounds or so I would go down in size. If you think about it the larger you are, the more area the weight is coming off, if that makes sense. just keep on working on that loss and you will see it in your sizes soon! 2 stept04 and ItsANewDay reacted to this
4sweeties 63 Posted June 23, 2013 Did you try on smaller clothes? I thought I was still fitting into my clothes. They were baggy but not falling down. But then my husband was shopping and picked up new jeans for me 2 sizes smaller. I thought oh good, these will motivate me to keep losing. I put them on just so I would be able to compare, thinking I wont get them over my hips or be able to zip them- and they fit!!!! I didn't realize I was ready to go down sizes until I actually tried on a tighter size. 3 ItsANewDay, stept04 and kll724 reacted to this
winkie80 147 Posted June 23, 2013 40 pounds is an amazing accomplishment!!! I have been in the same size closing for many years even though my weight has gone up and up and up probably about 50 pounds. The smaller size will happen. Everyone's body shape is different so where we cary our extra weight varries. 1 stept04 reacted to this
kll724 3,055 Posted June 23, 2013 I agree with 4sweeties, try a smaller size. You might be surprised and feel good about your losses! 1 stept04 reacted to this
Joy332 25 Posted June 23, 2013 Winkie80 is exactly right. You are losing, just not as much in the areas that affect the size clothing you wear. Do not be discouraged! You will get there! 40 pounds is incredible--pat yourself on the back!! Wow. The smaller clothes will come. 1 stept04 reacted to this
gowalking 10,790 Posted June 23, 2013 Don't be discouraged. I went down one size my first 40 lbs. but then I went down two sizes while losing the next 25. It will happen for you too.
Spaness2012 609 Posted June 23, 2013 It takes out minds a little longer to catch up as well. I am still wearing clothes that I think still fit. And then someone says...that shirt is too big for you are swimming in those pants. I have to recheck it...put a smaller size on and WOW ...the smaller size really does fit. Don't be so hard on yourself......it's a process....physically and mentally. 1 Joy332 reacted to this

thefinalgirl1971 26 Posted June 30, 2013 I don't know how big you are but I noticed that in the larger sizes, I had to lose much more weight to change sizes-maybe 30 pounds or something to go down. But at smaller sizes the size changes with like 10 pounds lost. I've heard other people say the same thing. Just be patient. It will happen.
