Hi everybody! I wanted to see the general consensus on how everybody felt at about post-op day 10?? I have an event to go to 10 days after surgery and I know everybody is different...but I just wanted to see if anybody still had issues 10 days later or not?

Well I guess the question is what kind of event. What I've been up to walking a 5k maybe not. Are you talking about a graduation or a wedding? Probably my biggest concern is will involve food and will there be something there you can eat or will you feel comfortable bringing your own food. I think setting yourself up to have to eat foods you're not allowed just because you have an event to go to would be a bad precedent.

I felt great by day 10, but hungry. Be prepared for that.

At ten days post op I was still in need of a little rest, so I wouldnt want to be somewhere for an entire day without an oppurtunity to relax. A few hours would be great! I guess it all up to how intense the activity will be... Best luck to you!

About 10 days after surgery we went over to a friends house over night and did some running around, in and out of the car, walking around, up and down some stairs. I felt good but still had to take it easy. It was only for about half the day, but it still made me tired and sore. So depending on the activity's I would just take it easy and don't be surprised if you get more tired and sore than expected. But the food could be an issue, I was able to take my own stuff, but we we're there over night too.

I am 10 days post op today n my lap band issues are fine. Barely any soreness, I can sleep in any position I want. No problems at all. Able to get up/down with ease. I recommend take your own cooler with your allotted foods/liquids.

I went to a concert four days post-op (surgeon had said I would be fine) and with hindsight, I wouldn't do it again. I had gas pains and was still extremely tired. By 10 days I would have enjoyed it a whole lot more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
