aphroheidi 8 Posted June 22, 2013 Everyone keeps talking about the preoperation liquid diet but my surgeon is having me eat normal meals even the night before⦠Is this right? Also, since I'm asking questions...I am having surgery on June 25th and I just started my menstrual cycle. Will they have to reschedule?
winkie80 147 Posted June 22, 2013 Each surgeon is different. My pre-op is a high proteing low carb 10 day diet. I had to switch programs and my old program would have been a 4 week liquid diet wiht my BMI. Follow what your surgeon wants you to do. A pre-op diet shrinks your liver. Your surgeon will know best for you. 1 aphroheidi reacted to this

stept04 465 Posted June 22, 2013 As far as your menstrual cycle you won't have to reschedule. Just let the nurses now and they'll take care of you. You can not wear a tampon.. My hospital gave me some special undergarments. The pre-op diet is mainly for shrinking the liver, so maybe your doctor does not feel that will be a problem.. As winkie80 stated all doctors are different in there requirements Good luck. ~~~Stephanie. 1 aphroheidi reacted to this
