BigOBoy123 67 Posted June 22, 2013 Well I'm home from my surgery and I'm up pacing the floor trying to get the gas pains to subside cause they really suck. Mine feel like they are under my rib cage so I took 2 Gas-X chewables. I really hope they help. But the doc said everything went fine and I should be back to normal in a few days. Heck, I'm just glad to finally be able to post in the Post Op section of this website. LoL! 2 LessLee and winkie80 reacted to this
GuyMontag 1,264 Posted June 22, 2013 Good job man. Try rolling your shoulders and keep walking around. Deep breaths too. Good luck on your journey!
Judy Robinette 51 Posted June 22, 2013 Congratulations!! Now the bad new! The gas will go away, but it's going to be rough the next couple of days. Walk, Walk, Walk. Laying on your belly on a bed or couch for a few minutes at a time will apply pressure and help the gas come out. Definitely roll your shoulders. I am 1 week 1 day and I barely feel the gas anymore, so relief is in sight.
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted June 22, 2013 Also you can try a heating pad on the top of your shoulders. Walking is the best remedy though. Gas-x did not help me for this type of gas which is outside the stomach and intestinal area. 1 catfish87 reacted to this
karenw 21 Posted June 22, 2013 okay reading all this ...going to walk a ton next week if I can
Judy Robinette 51 Posted June 22, 2013 I took the actual Gas X gel pill versus the strips. I used the maximum strength which was recommended by the pharmacists once I told him what I needed it for. He said that the low dose gas strips won't work, that I needed a higher strength 120 or more. They didn't take it all away, but it helped a lot.

BigOBoy123 67 Posted June 22, 2013 Thanks everyone. I'm walking as we speak and holding my arms over my head does help as well as the deep breathes. Thanks again. In some pain, but I'm so excited at the same time.

Maddysgram 6,159 Posted June 22, 2013 Congratulations fellow bandster! Yep, gas pains suck, but it won't last long. My dr said worst is 48hrs and he was right. Everyday after that gets better and better. Walking is the best thing you can do. Heating pad helps when too tired to walk. Don't forget to sip sip sip Water between walking.lol You have just made the best decision of your life. 1 LessLee reacted to this
