Got my 6th fill earlier this week, total of 9.5cc in a 14cc band and I'm finally feeling it work! I ate some Breakfast this morning about 9, went on about my day as normal and around 330 I felt my tummy growl... And it hit me... I haven't eaten anything since breakfast and I was just now getting hungry! Score!!! My portions size is still a little more then they'd like so I won't say I'm in the "green zone" just yet. Prolly one more fill and I'll be fully in the green!

Maybe is you lowered your portion sizes you could eat on a more regular schedule.

I'm at a cup of food right now, if I eat just half a cup I'm hungry in like 2 hrs. Surgeon said I'm good where I'm at right now, next fill should put me to the half cup mark and full. So I'm listening to my surgeon.

I eat about a cup to 1 and 1/2 every six hours or so. You don't have to limit yourself to so little is you exercise a LOT.

I exercise daily, about a hour or so. I'm just following my surgeons rules to get to my goal weight. My last fill has really let me know the band is there and I can feel it working. I must be doing something right... 4 months post op and I'm down 40 lbs so I can't complain!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
